Recently, we had a very young buzzard - quite literally a ball of white fluff - brought in to us by a gentleman who had found it directly underneath a very tall larch tree. Right at the top, 60 feet up, was the nest! Amazingly, the little bird was totally uninjured and very soon gobbled down the food we offered to it. After a couple of days' observation and feeding up, Fran put the story out on Facebook, asking if anyone knew a wildlife-friendly tree surgeon who might be prepared to donate his time and expertise to getting the little chap back to its nest.
We had a fantastic response from a highly experienced local tree surgeon, Clive, who said he would gladly have a go. Due to a traffic delay on the Friday afternoon, he had to postpone the procedure until Saturday morning.
