Cuan Wildlife Rescue

Welcome to Cuan Wildlife Rescue, the only 24/7 Wildlife Rescue Centre, in Shropshire. We are dedicated to the rescue, care and rehabilitation of sick, injured and orphaned wild animals and birds. Each year we regularly admit and treat approximately 1,700 creatures for which we need to raise approximately £60,000 for the day to day running costs.

Moving House

Here is the news at last that many of you will have been waiting for - certainly we have!

We shall be moving the Charity from where it has been for the past 24 years to its new premises.  The move will take place on Monday and Tuesday, the 21st and 22nd July.  The phone number will be the same (01952 728070 9.30 am until 5.30 pm and 07731347998 at other times) and will switch to the new Centre on Monday afternoon.

Although we shall still be taking emergency admissions, please do bear with us if you find it difficult to get through on those two days.  As you can imagine, it will be quite an upheaval!

Back to the Tree Tops

Recently, we had a very young buzzard - quite literally a ball of white fluff - brought in to us by a gentleman who had found it directly underneath a very tall larch tree. Right at the top, 60 feet up, was the nest!  Amazingly, the little bird was totally uninjured and very soon gobbled down the food we offered to it.  After a couple of days' observation and feeding up, Fran put the story out on Facebook, asking if anyone knew a wildlife-friendly tree surgeon who might be prepared to donate his time and expertise to getting the little chap back to its nest.

We had a fantastic response from a highly experienced local tree surgeon, Clive, who said he would gladly have a go.  Due to a traffic delay on the Friday afternoon, he had to postpone the procedure until Saturday morning.
